IMPORT REGULATIONS


– AGE RESTRICTION:

Vehicles must be more than 15 years old based on manufactured year and month.

Buses must be manufactured before 1st of January, 1970.

 

– STEERING WHEEL:

Right hand drive (RHD) and Left hand drive (LHD).

 

– DESTINATION PORTS:

Halifax, New Westminster, Toronto, Vancouver.

 

– INSPECTION:

No Inspection is required.

 

– CUSTOM DUTIES AND TAXES:

SHIPMENT


 1. RO-RO (Roll on Roll off) can be proceeded

a) A vehicle that has at least 15cm of height from the ground to the car’s body (ex. Standard suspension).
b) Hood can be opened.
c) A vehicle can be driven.
d) Tires can turn and run.
e) Handbrake must work.
f) A vehicle does not need to be towed, lifted up or pulled out by an0ther vehicle.

2. RO-RO can NOT be proceeded if…

a) Engine does not work properly.
b) A vehicle cannot be driven by itself.
c) White or black smoke coming from engine, exhaust or any another places.
d) Batteries has defect, broken or malfunctioning.
e) There is not windscreen.
f) Any side or rear windows are not covered.
g) Rear trunk cannot be opened for using a spare tire.
h) Parts are not repaired, held or fixed tightly.
k) Any vehicle with inner cargo.
l) Any part(s) that can cause human accidents or damage another vehicle(s) or property on board.
m) Any vehicle with mechanical issues.

3. CONTAINERS

a) 20 or 40FT Containers might be used for carrying vehicles to Canada.
b) The frequency of the shipment by Container is less than that of RORO.
c) A number of vehicles to fit in one particular Container depends on the size of Japanese used cars.
